Big Wins

Another big win for The Bobcats in The Queen City. The Golden State Warriors came to town Saturday night and The Bobcats were happy to see them. The Cats wanted to keep things rolling, coming off of that big win against The Lakers on Friday. The Bobcats dropped The Warriors 101-90, but let’s see how they got there.

The Bobcats had five players in double figures, led by DJ Augustin coming off the bench with 19. Wallace followed closely with 18 points and 2 assists. Wallace earned 6 of those points at the line. Boris Diaw, Theo Ratliff, and Stephen Jackson also added to the double figures. Newly acquired Tyrus Thomas contributed 5 points and 5 rebounds.

On, the opposition side, The Warriors had three players in double figures. Leading the way was local boy Stephen Curry with 25 points and 4 assists. Corey Maggette contributed 19 points and 1 rebound. The Bobcats look ahead now to Miami Tuesday night.

It's Over

The Bobcats home winning streak came to an end Saturday night, when they lost to the Orlando Magic 106-95. The Bobcats kept it close late and forced overtime by locking it up at 92 with just over a second left in regulation. But that striking Bobcat offense was no where to be found in overtime. Jackson and Felton were the only two Bobcat players able to score in the extra period. Jackson had a driving dunk with a 1:39 left and Felton was able to hit 1 free throw from the line.

Even though the Bobcats couldn’t get the victory, they were able to find some confidence in other ways. On the court DJ Augustin had a hot hand in the game. He finished with 22 points and went 8 for 14 from the field. Jackson added 15 and Raymond Felton also was able to contribute 14. But Gerald Wallace is where the team needed the help. Wallace finished with only 9 points and 4 of those came from free throws.

The Magic on the other hand never slowed down. All 5 starters were in double figures and as a team they were able to put together 14 three pointers. In total the magic attempted 39 from behind the arch. By doing this the Magic force the Bobcats to pressure the outside, this allowing Howard to get open in the paint.

The Bobcats are back at .500 sitting at 21-21 and the Orlando Magic are 29-15. Larry Brown needs to look past this game and get ready for there 6 game road trip coming up. It’s impressive that the Bobcats are .500 at this point in the season, but reality will set in when there road trip is over. Hopefully this 6 game trip will go in favor of the Bobcat fans.
